The ideal candidate must have a strong desire for news, with the ability to handle breaking news and live shots with confidence and ease.

WAOW, the ABC affiliate in Wausau, WI, is looking for a meteorologist who loves storytelling!

We are looking for a meteorologist who likes to talk about weather, be in weather, chase weather, and report about weather. We’re looking for a scientist who can create memorable television and produce content for on-air, online and social media platforms.

This is a full-time, flexible position that primarily handles the early evening newscast Monday through Friday, but frequently fills-in on other newscasts, reports on active weather from the field, and creates other weather-related stories or content.

Like severe weather? We’ve got it. Like snowstorms? We’ve got those too. You’ll be working with the WSI MAX system!

A college degree in meteorology or its equivalent is preferred, NWA and AMS certifications are a plus.

WAOW-TV, the ABC affiliate, in Wausau, Wisconsin, is seeking a take charge leader to help guide us to a future that goes well beyond traditional broadcast news.
 
This position functions as the hub of our news organization and will serve as an editorial decision-maker for our TV, web, mobile and social networking platforms. 
 
WAOW-TV is a continuous local news source with an ever-immediate deadline mentality. The Content Manager will oversee our daily news operation, assigning and tracking news stories
throughout the day, and working with multi-media journalists on those stories. This leader will work very closely with the News Director and Executive Producer as well as the Internet Director to ensure market-leading content is being delivered on all platforms.

Because WAOW is a continuous local news source with an ever immediate deadline mentality, the Content Manager will directly oversee and be in nearly constant contact with all involved in our news gathering and delivery processes.

Applicants must have 3 to 5 years’ experience in television news, along with the desire to further their career in a management position. Strong leadership qualities are a must! You must be able to lead, motivate and guide our MJ’s and Content Producers as they shape our newscasts and
other multi-media platforms. A strong journalism background and the ability to make timely, accurate decisions are a must.
