WKOW-TV has an opening for a hardworking, creative team player to join our photojournalism staff. We’re looking for a news journalist who loves telling stories with memorable characters, impactful video and strong natural sound.

You'll work with an award-winning staff of reporters and photographers on daily news events and in-depth reports.

Our photojournalists are responsible for live shots, gathering video and conducting interviews. They work both alongside reporters and solo depending on the story and situation. You’ll have the opportunity to become a drone operator at this station!

A minimum of one year experience in a newsroom is preferred. The position requires the ability to carry up to 50 pounds, a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Our meteorologists work with state-of-the-art technology and are skilled forecasters who can also create easy-to-understand graphics.

WKOW-TV is the weather leader in the market. We put an emphasis on producing weather into our newscasts, not just relying on our meteorologists to fill time.

Qualified candidates should have a degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences. At least one year of on-air experience as a broadcast meteorologist is preferred.

WKOW, Madison, Wisconsin’s ABC affiliate, has a rare opening for an aggressive individual with strong news topical writing skills to join our Marketing and Creative Services Team as a Topical Writer/Producer. The successful candidate will write, produce and edit exceptional topicals and special promotable promotion. This position is responsible for developing consistently effective daily topical promotional spots for all WKOW newscasts. Other responsibilities will include creating Proof of Performance (POP) spots and production work in Marketing and Creative Services as needed. 

You must be able to write compelling marketing promos, collaborate effectively with newscast producers and reporters, and consistently push for the best video to sell the story.

REQUIREMENTS:
