WQOW in Eau Claire, Wisconsin is seeking applications for a Technical Media and News Producer position. Responsibilities include directing newscasts, editing video, and fill-in news producing.

This role involves operating various techincal equipment—such as switchers, audio boards, and playback devices—ensuring a high level of on-air product quality, including managing video and audio levels. Collaboration with reporters, anchors, and other production stafff is essential, as is the ability to create graphics and other visual elements. The position also requires troubleshooting technical issues and maintaining studio equipment, along with other assigned duties.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to deadlines. A knowledge of news production work-flows and the ability to embrace new technology are a must. Training is provided and likely necessary for an applicant with the right aptitude and technical skills. While not mandatory, a bachelor's degree in communications, broadcasting, or a related field is preferred. Any offer of employment is contingent upon successful background screening.

WXOW/WQOW, an ABC affiliate in La Crosse, WI, seeks a dedicated full-time Traffic Manager to join our esteemed team.

Are you enthusiastic about the intricate workings behind broadcasting local television programming and commercials? This pivotal role ensures seamless operations, keeping our station on air 24/7.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily commercial and program logs for multiple stations.
  • Maintain liaison with Network Affiliate Relations, ensuring timely distribution of programming information.
  • Communication of programming changes effectively across departments.
  • Process and submit Nielsen, ComScore, and other essential reports.
  • Update programming details on rate cards/grids.
  • Manage order entries and daily logs/copy.
  • Coordinate special programming events for WKOW, WAOW, WXOW/WQOW.
  • Ensure FCC compliance across all stations.
  • Supervise Traffic Department operations and collaborate closely with the Operations Center.
  • Address daily discrepancy reports (Master Control & AE’s). Provide backup support for sales assistant during absences.

Requirements & Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; further education preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulous data-entry proficiency.
  • Minimum one year of experience in clerical or administrative roles.
  • Proficient in computer operations; ability to adapt to new software quickly.
