You will work with state-of-the-art HD cameras and editing equipment, producing compelling stories for our television and digital platforms.

You’ll enterprise, shoot, write and edit stories that set us apart from the competition.  Everything from breaking news to memorable features 

We’re looking for someone who is just as comfortable in a live ad-lib situation as they are with a script.  Superior writing skills are key, as well as your ability to connect with the  audience.   

Applicants must successfully pass a driving record check and background screening.

WREX, the NBC Affiliate in Rockford, IL, is looking for a visually creative and highly energetic Weekend Evening Anchor / Producer / MMJ. We’re looking for a journalist who knows how to create “memorable television moments” in the studio and out in the field. We are looking for a journalist who can dig for a story and fights to be the lead in the newscast. If you know how to use social media to creatively engage viewers, we want to learn more about you.  Do you know how to develop and enterprise exclusive content? If so, you will get our attention. Strong news gathering, producing and investigative skills are preferred.

This position requires on-camera anchoring, reporting, producing photojournalism and non-linear editing.  Our journalists produce content for on-air, online, and mobile platforms.  Producing experience is a plus. Applicants must have a degree in journalism or a related multimedia field and prior on-camera professional experience. .
