WXOW-TV in beautiful La Crosse, Wisconsin is looking for an ambitious journalist who
is passionate about local news to fill the role of news producer.

We are willing to train the right candidate, and our extensive on-boarding process will
prepare you to succeed in this position. We strongly believe in cross-training, so you’ll
have the skills and confidence to excel as our early evening newscast producer, and a
citizen of the newsroom.
The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and must work well
under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Accuracy is valued above all else and a
degree in journalism is preferred. Knowledge of AP Style is a must.
Responsibilities include:
● Search for news content from multiple sources, including our affiliates, social
media, and local sources
● Work with News Director, Anchors, Reporters and Meteorologists to execute
content-driven newscasts
● Assign camera operations and on-camera reads
● Format content to fit within our show template
● Write creative and engaging stories
● Write compelling headlines and teases
● Communicate well with newsroom team
● Update our website and social media with new content daily
● Manage breaking news
● Monitor emails and news releases
● Add potential news stories to our day planner
● Perform other duties as assigned

WXOW-TV/WQOW-TV in the beautiful La Crosse-Eau Claire, Wisconsin market is looking for a
full-time Digital Content Manager to take our digital efforts to the next level. If you’re passionate
about journalism, delivering breaking news and creating engaging content for our digital and
social media platforms, here’s your chance to be part of an award-winning news operation!
This full-time manager will lead the two stations’ digital content initiatives by creating and
managing content, as well as managing the websites and app appearances of WXOW in La
Crosse and WQOW in Eau Claire.
This position curates the home pages and apps of both television stations, assists reporters and
anchors in the creation of native social content, and aggressively covers breaking news for
digital and social platforms through breaking news push alerts, livestreams, social posts and
web articles.
The ideal candidate thinks ‘digital first’ and has strong editorial and news judgment
skills. They must be able to collaborate with our news teams but also work
independently. They should have strong writing skills (AP Style), the ability to
comprehend digital analytics and be able to work closely with other newsroom
management to create daily content workflow on our digital, mobile and social
platforms.
The Digital Content Manager also works closely with our Marketing and Sales teams to
help them create and execute effective campaigns across our digital platforms.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communication or a
related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in journalism or digital content is
Preferred. This is an in-house position, with the option of working in either La Crosse or Eau
Claire.
