JOB SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for producing and managing the researching, developing, shooting, writing, editing, producing and narrating sports reports and programming for a variety of content distribution platforms, including KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, KEZI 9 News Mobile, Facebook, Twitter, MeTV, and other stations and platforms in the broadcast group.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

Managing the sports reporters/anchors and their production of content for all platforms

Enterprising, shooting, writing, editing and presenting stories for multiple content distribution platforms, including KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, Facebook, Twitter, KEZI 9 News Mobile, MeTV and other stations in the broadcast group

Overseeing sportscasts and sports specials in all phases of production

Maintaining a current understanding of all sports news occurring in our primary coverage area as well as the state, nation and world
-
Creating and maintaining day files, story files, and telephone/address files
-
Anchoring and producing assigned sportscasts

Serving on-call as scheduled

Maintaining assigned video equipment and associated TVU gear

Serving as a public representative of KEZI 9 News at various community functions

Other duties as assigned by the News Director or General Manager
SKILLS REQUIRED/QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years of experience as a television sports reporter/anchor preferred

Ability to shoot, write, edit clearly and efficiently

Ability to perform effectively under extreme deadline pressure

Excellent interpersonal skills; a “team player”

Ability to work shifts as assigned including weekends, weeknights, overnights and holidays as needed

College degree in journalism or related discipline required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Dexterity to operate equipment, which may be heavy (approximately up to 55 pounds)

Seeing and hearing necessary to handle all job functions

May be required to deliver reports from various places, which may require walking, climbing or other means of getting to the location with camera equipment without a grip

Experience in media sales or related field is preferred. Looking for a team-oriented professional with a proven record of new business development, digital advertising sales, transactional account management and a tireless work ethic. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task well in a fast-paced environment, and superb customer relations skills. The Account Executive will be responsible for selling advertising to existing clients and building an additional list of clients through new business development.

View Job DetailsDESCRIPTION: A Technical Media Producer (TMP) is a hybrid position which includes the responsibilities of a Master Control Operator and a Technical Director. The TMP is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring on-air streams, FCC logs, and ingesting daily programming/commercials. Daily assignments will include directing at least one newscast, ingesting/segmenting various long-form programs, ingesting commercial spots, loading programming playlists for the following day, and performing various tasks as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Operation of Ross Overdrive automation (including robotic cameras, audio console, graphics, and production video switcher), and all supporting equipment in Production/Master Control; including the ability to effectively perform at the following: commercial/promo ingesting, satellite operation, program ingesting/segmenting, & a working knowledge of web production. Operation of Edius editing software, and studio teleprompter. Daily care & maintenance of equipment & studio. Work closely with all departments to meet daily demands. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Master Control and Live Production experience. Experience with production automation system like Ross Overdrive, ability to work under pressure, great communication/people skills, ability to multitask under time sensitive deadlines, strong technical & computer skills, flexibility with scheduling & job assignments, understanding of FCC program logs & all FCC broadcast regulations.
