View Job DetailsSPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
- Enterprising, shooting, writing, editing and presenting stories for multiple content distribution platforms, including KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, Facebook, Twitter, KEZI 9 News Mobile, MeTV and other stations in the broadcast group
- Reporting live from the field on breaking news stories and from scheduled news events
- Maintaining close communication with assignment desk and producers
- Establishing and cultivating sources and beats
- Creating and maintaining day files, story files and telephone/address files
- Maintaining a current understanding of all news occurring in our primary coverage area as well as the state, nation and the world
- Cleaning news vehicles and newsroom
- Maintaining assigned video equipment and associated ENG gear
- Serving as a public representative of KEZI 9 News at various community functions
- Other duties as assigned by the News Director or General Manager
SKILLS REQUIRED/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Actual experience in a like paid position or multiple internships
- Ability to shoot, write, edit and report clearly and efficiently
- Ability to perform effectively under extreme deadline pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills; a “team player”
- Ability to work shifts as assigned including weekends, weeknights, overnights and holidays as needed
- College degree in journalism or related discipline
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Dexterity to operate equipment, which may be heavy (approximately up to 55 pounds)
- Seeing and hearing necessary to handle all job functions
- May be required to deliver reports from various places, which may require walking, climbing or other means of getting to the location with camera equipment without a grip
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences, and at least 1 year on-air experience preferred. Knowledge of WSI Max Storm system helpful. Strong preference will be given to candidates with AMS CBM certification. Ability to use, transport and lift video camera equipment and tripod (approx. 55 lbs.) without assistance from a grip or videographer. Proficient at shooting and editing under extreme deadline pressure. Ability to produce newscasts a plus. Outstanding interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and present weather forecasts for our newscasts, and generating content for kezi.com, Facebook, Twitter, and KEZI 9 News Mobile. Anchor weathercasts in-studio or live on location. Keep current on topical meteorology, science and technology issues and computer graphics operation. Maintain close liaison with NWS representatives. Report science stories, feature stories and produce specials as assigned. Represent station at various community functions.

View Job DetailsDESCRIPTION: A Technical Media Producer (TMP) is a hybrid position which includes the responsibilities of a Master Control Operator and a Technical Director. The TMP is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring on-air streams, FCC logs, and ingesting daily programming/commercials. Daily assignments will include directing at least one newscast, ingesting/segmenting various long-form programs, ingesting commercial spots, loading programming playlists for the following day, and performing various tasks as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Operation of Ross Overdrive automation (including robotic cameras, audio console, graphics, and production video switcher), and all supporting equipment in Production/Master Control; including the ability to effectively perform at the following: commercial/promo ingesting, satellite operation, program ingesting/segmenting, & a working knowledge of web production. Operation of Edius editing software, and studio teleprompter. Daily care & maintenance of equipment & studio. Work closely with all departments to meet daily demands. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Master Control and Live Production experience. Experience with production automation system like Ross Overdrive, ability to work under pressure, great communication/people skills, ability to multitask under time sensitive deadlines, strong technical & computer skills, flexibility with scheduling & job assignments, understanding of FCC program logs & all FCC broadcast regulations. Willingness to learn new hardware and software.
