View Job DetailsAn Account Executive is responsible for handling all aspects of local accounts, developing new business, utilizing marketing skills and preparing/delivering client presentations. Manages and executes sales strategies which result in exceeding revenue targets in local, new business and digital revenue.
Ability to prospect, cold call and schedule face-to-face meetings with a creative compelling sales presentation. Effective communication skills on all platforms. We are seeking an experienced sales executive; this is not an entry level position. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build, present, sell, and execute cross-platform advertising campaigns
- Create client re-caps, demonstrating delivery and effectiveness of advertising campaigns
- Maintain and sell existing TV and digital accounts
- Prospect and sell new business, using television and digital products
- Work collaboratively with other departments and within a sales team on station projects
- Must be able to close new business
- Ability to make face to face outside sales visits
- Ability to generate sales leads

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A 4-year college degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred

- Outstanding written and verbal presentation skills and Organizational skills

JOB SUMMARY:
ABC12 in Flint, Michigan is looking for a Coordinating Producer to assist in the creation of fast-paced and engaging newscasts. The role requires planning and close collaboration with field crews, on-air talent, and the digital team, to ensure a cohesive news experience across all platforms, at all times of the day. The ideal candidate will be a creative professional who can work well under pressure, adapt quickly to breaking news, and is dedicated to consistently improving our delivery on each of our platforms.
You will collaborate closely with field crews, fellow producers, digital team, editors, and on-air talent to help deliver a cohesive, high-quality news experience across all platforms, including broadcast, streaming, and web. You must have the ability to act professionally and maintain control in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; be accustomed to changing gears on constant breaking news, updating news, and continued coverage for our viewers.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicating, coordinating, and executing creative vision with a team of anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff.
- Write, re-write, edit, and post to the station's web, social, and other digital platforms.
- Passion for production & storytelling, combined with an unwavering commitment to journalistic ethics and standards
- Adapt to breaking news and developing stories.
- Generate story ideas and collaborate with news staff on promotable story ideas.
- Work/assist with planning of staffing and logistics to cover daily news and special projects.
- Work with Reporters/Producers to produce compelling and creative coverage on-air and online.
- Oversee field crews and help mentor/coach them daily.
- Assist in making calls to news sources as needed, gaining appropriate and actionable information.
- Coordinate severe weather and breaking news coverage.
- Must maintain a working knowledge of current events, community issues, and an extensive list of local contacts.
- Monitors police/fire scanners as well as news tips.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Broadcast or newspaper experience of at least three years is strongly preferred.
- This is not an entry-level position.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing or orally with accuracy. Possess working knowledge of television technology.
- Working knowledge of current events and community issues
- Excellent communication skills, remaining calm under pressure
- Demonstrate solid news judgment.
- Ability to work under extreme deadline pressure and respond to late changes (be fluid).
- Must possess exceptional organizational and writing skills
- Knowledge of web-based publishing
- Experience with ENPS a plus.
- Must know how to edit video
- Must be available to work holidays and shifts that include nights, weekends, and overnights, and flexible with schedule to be available during breaking news.
- Must be willing to reside in the DMA

- One-year prior news-producing experience (professional or college)
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, English, Communications, or a related field.
- High level of communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure.
- The ability to be mindful of and meet deadlines.
- The ability to multi-task and coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
- The ability to summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
- Must be available to work holidays, shifts that include nights, weekends, and overnights, and flexible with schedule to be available during breaking news.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AP ENPS or Avid iNEWS.
- Knowledge of non-linear video editing systems.
- Knowledge of web-based publishing.
- Experience managing professional brands’ digital and social accounts.

WJRT-TV/ABC12, Allen Media Broadcasting, ABC-affiliate in Flint, Michigan is seeking candidates for IT Manager. The qualified candidate will know how to maintain users within a Windows Active Directory domain environment. Expertise in Windows OS’ up to 11 Pro and Server 2022, including Database Systems is a must. Exercise the highest level of discretion. Advanced organizational skills. Strong ability to prioritize a constantly changing task list. Possess strong technical and networking skills with ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve complex problems and machine stoppages. Duties include hardware and software end-user support. Support/Diagnose/Repair various computer devices: workstations and peripherals and software problems. Broadcast Engineering knowledge, CISSP/CEH, Linux/Unix, Firewall, SAN/NAS and VMWare VSphere experience considered a plus.
This position includes on-call rotation, which may require weekend/holiday emergency work as needed.
General Responsibilities:
- The IT Manager is responsible for the proper operation of all information technology and related equipment and software at the station and for answering technology-related questions.
- Install, configure and repair computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Perform regular maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly.
- Troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and Internet systems.
- Routine maintenance of hardware/software.
- Performing software upgrades and file backups on the network daily, weekly, or monthly.
- Solve IT problems promptly.
- Assist computer users through phone, email, or in-person.
- Support and train end users on computer hardware and software.
- Assist with Broadcast equipment installation and setup.
- Participate and oversee all aspects of information security.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering a related technology field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Industry specific certification expected.
- Cisco experience and certification are strongly desired.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in computer user support.
- Time management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution are required.
- Flexibility to work any shift including nights/weekends.
- Ability to work under extreme deadline pressure and respond to late changes (be fluid).
