News Producer

QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years prior news producing experience and strong editorial skills

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Broadcasting, or a related field
  • High level of communication skills both written and verbal along with excellent judgement
  • Experience in a newsroom, the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Must possess exceptional organizational and writing skills
  • Knowledge of web-based publishing
  • Mindful of deadlines
  • Ability to lead and make split second decisions based upon knowledge of directives
  • Must be self-motivated, ability to multi-task, and excel under intense deadlines pressure in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience with ENPS a plus

We are seeking someone who will build sources in the community, and has an eye and ear for compelling video and sound.  A Reporter that can delve into investigative stories and ask critical key questions that our viewers want to know.  Familiarity with operating TVU and Dejero live equipment a plus.  On occasion you may be asked to be an MMJ as needed.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and maintain a professional quality video camera and related news gathering equipment.
  • Be familiar with and understand non-linear editing techniques to meet deadlines and create high-impact stories.
  • Operate and maintain live equipment including microwave, satellite, and LiveU backpack.
  • Work with reporters in the field to turn visually creative, memorable stories as well as interesting, active live shots.
  • Bring story ideas and creative energy to the table every day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to generate live shots and packages with high production values is a must.
  • Candidate should have all requisite skills with technology, including legacy microwave, major streaming vendors, FTP solutions, non-linear editing solutions and state of the art newsroom production and rundown system .
  • Ideal candidate will be resourceful, self-reliant, and self-motivated.
  • Having a 107 remote pilot drone license is a plus as well as experience and demonstrated ability with original graphics.A driver’s license in good standing is required as well as the ability to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.

  • Have working knowledge of the latest operating systems software, including server and desktop operating systems

  • Must have a background / previous working experience in engineering
