WXOW/WQOW, the ABC affiliate in La Crosse/Eau Claire, WI has an immediate opening for a Digital Sales Manager.

The successful candidate will be an innovative leader who embraces multi-platform sales opportunities with web, mobile, digital, and other opportunities to new and existing clients of WXOW/WQOW.  We’re after the strategic, creative advertising mind that’s the driving force behind the sales.

As Digital Sales Manager, you will work in tandem with station sales management and with the WXOW/WQOW sales staff in developing and executing multi-platform campaigns, facilitating growth and revenue for new media.  This includes developing proposals, pricing, and packaging for our staff as well as managing digital inventory and maintaining reports.

You must have excellent communication and organizational skills and look forward to thriving in a fast-paced, exciting television and on-line environment. Experience in convergence and/or internet sales, strong computer skills, and working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is preferred. Applicants must have strong oral and writing presentation skills and a college degree in marketing, liberal arts or equivalent experience in media sales or marketing preferred (i.e., TV, Radio, Newspaper or Digital).

WXOW Assignment Editor

This person will work closely with the News Director to shape our news coverage every day

WXOW, ABC affiliate in La Crosse, WI, has an immediate opening for an Assignment Editor. We are looking for a responsible, self-motivated and organized person to help
lead the newsroom.

This is a leadership position. This person will work closely with the News Director to shape our news coverage every day. Some of the responsibilities will include daily editorial meetings, produce and manage daily story ideas, track upcoming events for potential stories, coordinate breaking news coverage, assign stories to staff, and work with reporters daily to cultivate the best story possible.

The ideal candidate will embrace social media as our staff produces content for on-air, online and mobile platforms.

To be considered, the candidate will need to be deeply invested in local, state and national news, including but not limited to politics, business, and agriculture. A successful candidate will not only be able to work efficiently under pressure but be able to lead during it.

Knowledge of Blox CMS, iNews and Avid is a plus. Applicants must have a degree in journalism or a related multimedia field. At least two years of leadership experience preferred.

WXOW Weekend Meteorologist

WXOW, ABC affiliate in La Crosse, WI is looking for a full-time meteorologist to anchor weekend weather, fill-in weekdays and report during the week.

We are looking for a person who embraces the challenge of forecasting four seasons, takes a leadership role in forecasting (especially during severe weather) and is committed to working as part of a team.

WXOW News 19 is committed to competing on all platforms: broadcast, web and social media. You need excellent communication skills. And you’ll work with a professional forecast team using Weather Central’s ESP-Live, Micro-cast system and 3D Live equipment. You’ll also produce live and recorded weather updates for our radio partners. Commercial television experience and solid computer skills are required.
