This position is great for someone who has a team attitude and can provide a confident, trustworthy, and fair presence both on-air and in the field. A successful candidate will work efficiently under pressure and be able to cover breaking news.

WQOW-TV, Eau Claire’s ABC affiliate, is looking for a talented journalist who can produce and anchor our three weekend newscasts and be our lead reporter three days a week.

 

Applicants must have a degree in journalism or a related multimedia field. Newsroom experience is preferred. Knowledge of iNews and Avid is a plus. Our staff produces content for on-air, online, and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will embrace social media, have great news judgment, good on-air skills, and leadership ability.

 

You’ll oversee our newsroom on the weekends, deciding coverage, updating our website and social media platforms as well as producing and anchoring the evening newscasts. For three days a week, you’ll shoot, write, and edit enterprise stories that fall under the ‘Eau Claire’s Own’ brand. Expect to go live on a regular basis and cover breaking news.

 

While employed at WQOW, this person will receive personal feedback on a regular basis. Professional training is provided.

WXOW News 19 is looking for a full-time meteorologist to anchor our morning weather newscast. Successful candidate loves weather and can deliver an understandable accurate forecast. Position includes weekend fill-in, live breaking weather coverage, some reporting and organizing community weather promotional events.

We are looking for a person who embraces the challenge of forecasting four seasons, takes a leadership role in forecasting (especially during severe weather) and is committed to working as part of a team.

WXOW News 19 is committed to competing on all platforms: broadcast, web and social media. You need excellent communication skills. And you’ll work with a professional forecast team using Weather Central’s ESP-Live, Micro-cast system and 3D Live equipment. You’ll also produce live and recorded weather updates for our radio partners. Commercial television experience and solid computer skills are required.

WQOW, the ABC affiliate serving the 128th largest market in the country is seeking a highly motivated IT Administrator for its award-winning, state of the art broadcast facility. As a key member of the engineering team, the IT Administrator will provide and perform all information technology support for the station including IT policies and procedures, equipment maintenance for WAN/LAN/VPN, wireless access points, domain controllers, Cisco VOIP phone systems and PC workstations.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Active Directory management

• Desktop support for local and remote users 

• Design, implement and maintain computer/network security policies 

• Work with corporate engineering and 3rd party vendors to configure, install, and maintain switches, routers, servers, NAS and other hardware and software 

• Provide capital budgetary support and advice for selection and replacement of equipment 

Skills preferences and requirements:

• Degree in IT related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required

• Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA and other industry certifications are a plus

• Experience with Active Directory administration, remote desktop applications, VPN, and Office 365 required

• Experience in broadcast television or a related field preferred

• Experience with Avid, iNews, Imagine automation, Ross Overdrive and Vantage transcoding system a plus

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Occasional climbing, kneeling, and crawling may be required for cable installations. Position requires a driver's license. Occasional travel to sister stations La Crosse, Wausau and Madison, and other company properties is required. Typical hours are Monday-Friday; however, all engineering staff are on call 24/7.
