QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior television traffic experience preferred.  Excellent computer skills.  Must have good telephone, interpersonal and verbal skills.  Ability to multi-task under deadline pressure while paying close attention to detail.  Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Traffic Manager, Master Control, and Sales Department to make certain that commercials and programs air correctly.  Perform data entry of commercial inventory orders onto the station’s broadcast log via specialized software.  Check for missed spots, responsible for making sure copy is in-house and attached to the orders.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is a full-time position; rate of pay is hourly.

LOCATION:                  Eugene, OR

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences, and at least 1 year on-air experience preferred.  Knowledge of WSI Max Storm system helpful.  Strong preference will be given to candidates with AMS CBM certification.  Ability to use, transport and lift video camera equipment and tripod (approx.  55 lbs.) without assistance from a grip or videographer.  Proficient at shooting and editing under extreme deadline pressure.  Ability to produce newscasts a plus.  Outstanding interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and present weather forecasts for our newscasts, and generating content for kezi.com, Facebook, Twitter, and KEZI 9 News Mobile.  Anchor weathercasts in-studio or live on location.  Keep current on topical meteorology, science and technology issues and computer graphics operation.  Maintain close liaison with NWS representatives.  Report science stories, feature stories and produce specials as assigned.  Represent station at various community functions.

DESCRIPTION:     A Technical Media Producer (TMP) is a hybrid position which includes the responsibilities of a Master Control Operator and a Technical Director. The TMP is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring on-air streams, FCC logs, and ingesting daily programming/commercials.  Daily assignments will include directing at least one newscast, ingesting/segmenting various long-form programs, ingesting commercial spots, loading programming playlists for the following day, and performing various tasks as needed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:    Operation of Ross Overdrive automation (including robotic cameras, audio console, graphics, and production video switcher), and all supporting equipment in Production/Master Control; including the ability to effectively perform at the following:  commercial/promo ingesting, satellite operation, program ingesting/segmenting, & a working knowledge of web production.  Operation of Edius editing software, and studio teleprompter. Daily care & maintenance of equipment & studio.  Work closely with all departments to meet daily demands.  Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:   Master Control and Live Production experience.  Experience with production automation system like Ross Overdrive, ability to work under pressure, great communication/people skills, ability to multitask under time sensitive deadlines, strong technical & computer skills, flexibility with scheduling & job assignments, understanding of FCC program logs & all FCC broadcast regulations.  Willingness to learn new hardware and software.

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be familiar with Edius or similar editing software. Proficient at linear and nonlinear formats under extreme deadline pressure. Experience or internship in a broadcast television newsroom preferred. Ability to use, transport and lift ENG equipment (approx. 50 lbs). Outstanding interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Editing stories for multiple content distribution platforms. Creatively editing packages, voiceovers and voiceover/sots, effectively using pictures and natural sound to tell a story, with strong audio/video linkage

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • This is a part-time position; must be flexible to work shifts as assigned including weekends, weeknights, and holidays; rate of pay is hourly and DOE
