Mississippi TV, LLC in Tupelo-Columbus, Mississippi, has an immediate opening for a multimedia journalist.

Brief Description:

Duties required, but not limited to: Working knowledge of the news gathering process. Strong news judgment and knowledge of proper grammar are required. General knowledge of courts, local and state government preferred.

Must be able to shoot video with station cameras in addition to writing and editing packages, vo/sots and look lives. Must be able to report live from field as well as shoot your own live shot.  Must follow newsroom dress code to properly represent station on the air and in the field. Individual will post written, video and picture content across the multiple online platforms and social media sites.

Minimum Requirements:

To be successful in this position, individual must be able to perform each essential duty to his or her utmost ability. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

Four-year college or university degree and/or previous experience in a television, print or web newsroom.

Pre-employment background check and drug test required. Must be a licensed driver and insurable for a motor vehicle.

Mississippi, is looking for the next high-level achiever to join our team! A WTVA Sales Account Executive needs to
be highly self-motivated, driven to exceed expectations, and attracted to a position that has no limits to personal
growth or success. As an Account Executive, you will be expected to work both at the station as well as outside of
the station making sales calls and/or visiting with clients or potential clients daily.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain business on all platforms – TV, Digital and Events
  • Prospect, contact and present to new businesses to generate new advertising revenue
  • Create and deliver sales presentations to clients & agencies
  • Ensure all revenue goals are achieved
  • Form strategic business and market partnerships
  • Collaborate with station departments to ensure client satisfaction
  • Act as negotiator for assigned accounts; ensure proposals align with station strategies.

Required Skills

  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent understanding of marketing, the advertising marketplace and competition
  • A positive, results-oriented attitude and must be a team player
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Google platform
  • Strong formal and interpersonal communication skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Must have a proven track record in sales and new business development
  • Experience in TV/Radio/Newspaper or other sales related experience is preferred
  • Must have personal insured transportation & valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
