Weekend Anchor
WAAY - TV, the Alabama Broadcasters Association's Station of the Year, is seeking a weekend anchor. This position is fulltime with duties anchoring the Saturday and Sunday evening newscast, working as an MMJ 3 days a week and filling in on the anchor desk as needed during the week. The ideal candidate is a hungry, passionate journalist who craves coming to work every day with a thirst for breaking news, public safety, education, cultivating sources and asking questions that will hold people accountable. You will be a newsroom leader, creative writer, and storyteller. You will appreciate constructive criticism and put ideas into action. Minimum Requirements Bachelor degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or equivalent. 2 years experience as a MMJ is required. Able to work independently and as a team member Ability to shoot and edit video. Willing to work in any weather condition, holidays and weekends.
