At WSIL-TV, our mission revolves around enhancing community strength and knowledge. Our Building a Better Community initiative spotlights diverse areas critical to community health, with the Jobs & Economy pillar standing at the forefront.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Craft insightful and accurate content about job markets, economic trends, and related subjects, customized for multiple platforms (TV, online, social media, etc.).
- Research: Stay updated on the latest economic data, job market trends, and policies, particularly those influencing Southern Illinois and its neighboring areas.
- Collaboration: Work in sync with our news team, digital content leaders, and other relevant departments to optimize content production and distribution.
- Community Engagement: Attend local economic forums, job fairs, interviews, and discussions to create grounded and localized content.
- Feedback Management: Engage with the community and audience to collect feedback, address concerns, and refine content quality and relevancy.
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or MBA student at a local university majoring in economics or a related program.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Aptitude to generate content tailored for diverse platforms, including but not limited to TV, web, and social media.
- A profound grasp of economic issues, especially those pertinent to the Southern Illinois region.
- Motivated, organized, and adept at juggling multiple assignments concurrently.
- Familiarity with content production tools and software is advantageous.
