13 WREX, the NBC affiliate serving northern Illinois is seeking an executive producer to join our award-winning team.
The ideal candidate will be an aggressive newsroom leader with an unending passion for innovative storytelling and mentoring young journalists.
We want a leader who will drive 13 WREX’s editorial process, constantly guiding our multimedia journalists and producers to develop news content on ALL platforms.
Applicants need to be proactive, and shine at showcasing our content, whether it's breaking news, daily coverage or a special project.
Excellent writing skills and news judgment is required.
You will work closely with the News Director, Content Manager and Digital Content Manager to ensure comprehensive coverage on all platforms.
This is a senior newsroom position, perfect for the aspiring news director.
The successful candidate will have a four-year degree, preferably in broadcast news/journalism or related field and significant producing, writing and newsgathering experience in a commercial newsroom.
