Island News has an opening for Digital Content Manager. The Digital Content Manager is primarily responsible for all content across KITV4 Island News’ digital platforms, including web, mobile, and other content distribution platforms.

The DCM is also responsible for the creation and curation of all content on kitv.com, aggressively covering breaking news through push alerts, livestreams, social posts, articles, video and more. This includes daily content, editing content, upkeep of site sections, video editing/producing, social media management, HTML coding, web-exclusive content, and coordinating with the Assignment Desk on broadcasting news events over digital platforms.This includes daily content, editing content, upkeep of site sections, video editing/producing, social media management, HTML coding, web-exclusive content, and coordinating with the Assignment Desk on broadcasting news events over digital platforms.

The DCM will also be involved in teaching and coaching the news team on how to best post and promote stories on all digital platforms, that is consistent with the goals/objectives and strategy of the newsroom.

Will work directly for the News Director and closely with other station management to provide support on other special digital initiatives and projects.

Please note, this is journalism position, NOT a social media manager position.

Qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media or other related field.
Must have 2 years of direct work experience with producing and innovating digital content, plus developing digital strategies for a news outlet (TV or Newspaper).
Must be knowledgeable with AP writing style and operate with the highest journalistic standards.
Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and tasks handling multiple assignments, while meeting "tight" deadlines in an environment subject to constant change and interruptions.
Must have outstanding interpersonal skills; a team player.
