Creative Services Director
The Creative Services Director is primarily responsible for the management and oversight of both station marketing and commercial production. Works hands-on creating marketing & promotion assets for the station and commercial content for its clients.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
Station marketing & promotion consists of promoting various station products; prime, syndicated programming, news, digital, etc. Promotion of these productions varies from on-air promos, to print ads, to digital ads, events and more. The process of on-air promotion includes hands-on work writing promos, producing, shooting, editing as well as promo scheduling and log management. A major portion of station marketing and promotion is maintaining the station product brands across all efforts. This entails making sure that any promo, digital or print element adheres to the brand elements for that particular product, be it News, Weather, Sports, etc.
Commercial production includes creation of on-air spots and other elements for clients that advertise on our platforms, ad agencies and others.
The Creative Services Director is also responsible for maintaining a cohesive on-air graphics look across a spectrum of media, from the newscast elements, to station IDs, syndicated promos, image promos, digital, print elements, car decals, down to letterhead and business cards.
In addition, the creative services department is often responsible for special projects that fall outside of any one departments directive. This includes live special events, print element support for sales projects, sponsored event support, etc.
Other duties as assigned by the Regional Vice President & General Manager.
SKILLS PREFERED/QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in a local television marketing department; previous management experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong still photography, videography and nonlinear editing skills
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficiency in use of Adobe Creative Suite software, including: Photoshop, After Effects, and Adobe Premiere Pro
- Ability to type 40 wpm
- Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills; a “team player”
- Ability to perform effectively under extreme deadline pressure
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to use, transport, and lift equipment weighing approximately fifty-five (55) pounds
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license
