M-F Morning Anchor/Producer

WTHI-TV is seeking an experienced Anchor/Producer. We’re a smaller market station, but we take news seriously.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Anchor weekday morning newscast
• Anchor and produce weekday morning cutins
• Prepare, write and edit scripts for newscasts and online and social networking products
• Produce newscasts for air
• Report news stories when assigned
• Be a strong storyteller
• Contribute story ideas on a regular basis, organizational skills and work under pressure a must
• Develop and maintain contacts and news sources throughout the viewing area
• Make public appearances
• Other job related duties as required

 

Job Requirements:

• Strong writing and communication skills   
• Strong news judgment
• College degree in journalism or related field
• Valid Indiana or Illinois driver’s license and clean criminal/driving record
• Contract will be required

 

Special Skills (Preferred):

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure of strict deadlines
• Non-linear editing
• ENPS
• Web Publishing Skills
