Morning Midday Anchor / Reporter / Producer
This position is primarily responsible for anchoring the morning and midday newscasts, researching, developing, shooting, writing, editing, producing and narrating reports for a variety of content distribution platforms, including KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, K
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
 Co-anchoring the morning newscasts and anchoring and producing the midday newscast.
 Enterprising, shooting, writing, editing and presenting stories for multiple content distribution platforms, including
KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, Facebook, Twitter, KEZI 9 News Mobile, MeTV Western Oregon and other stations in the
broadcast group
 Reporting live from the field on breaking news stories and from scheduled news events
 Maintaining close communication with assignment desk and producers
 Establishing and cultivating sources and beats
 Creating and maintaining day files, story files and telephone/address files
 Maintaining a current understanding of all news occurring in our primary coverage area as well as the state, nation
and the world
 Maintaining assigned video equipment and associated ENG gear
 Serving as a public representative of KEZI 9 News at various community functions
 Other duties as assigned by the News Director or General Manager
SKILLS REQUIRED/QUALIFICATIONS:
 Two plus years of experience as a television news reporter/anchor preferred
 Ability to perform effectively under extreme deadline pressure
 Excellent interpersonal skills; a “team player”
 Ability to work shifts as assigned including weekends, weeknights, overnights and holidays as needed
 College degree in journalism or related discipline required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
 Dexterity to operate equipment, which may be heavy (approximately up to 55 pounds)
 Seeing and hearing necessary to handle all job functions
 May be required to deliver reports from various places, which may require walking, climbing or other means of
getting to the location with camera equipment without a grip
 Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license
