Morning Midday Anchor / Reporter / Producer

This position is primarily responsible for anchoring the morning and midday newscasts, researching, developing, shooting, writing, editing, producing and narrating reports for a variety of content distribution platforms, including KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, K


SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
ï‚§ Co-anchoring the morning newscasts and anchoring and producing the midday newscast.
ï‚§ Enterprising, shooting, writing, editing and presenting stories for multiple content distribution platforms, including
KEZI 9 News, kezi.com, Facebook, Twitter, KEZI 9 News Mobile, MeTV Western Oregon and other stations in the
broadcast group
ï‚§ Reporting live from the field on breaking news stories and from scheduled news events
ï‚§ Maintaining close communication with assignment desk and producers
ï‚§ Establishing and cultivating sources and beats
ï‚§ Creating and maintaining day files, story files and telephone/address files
ï‚§ Maintaining a current understanding of all news occurring in our primary coverage area as well as the state, nation
and the world
ï‚§ Maintaining assigned video equipment and associated ENG gear
ï‚§ Serving as a public representative of KEZI 9 News at various community functions
ï‚§ Other duties as assigned by the News Director or General Manager
SKILLS REQUIRED/QUALIFICATIONS:
ï‚§ Two plus years of experience as a television news reporter/anchor preferred
ï‚§ Ability to perform effectively under extreme deadline pressure
ï‚§ Excellent interpersonal skills; a “team player”
ï‚§ Ability to work shifts as assigned including weekends, weeknights, overnights and holidays as needed
ï‚§ College degree in journalism or related discipline required
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
ï‚§ Dexterity to operate equipment, which may be heavy (approximately up to 55 pounds)
ï‚§ Seeing and hearing necessary to handle all job functions
ï‚§ May be required to deliver reports from various places, which may require walking, climbing or other means of
getting to the location with camera equipment without a grip
ï‚§ Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license
