Journalists needed to work remotely in locations throughout our expansive viewing area

Work as a journalist in a wonderful Midwest community that's part of a particularly large (geographically) DMA.  WSIL covers an area over 19,000 square miles, with no big cities, but a whole lot of local news.  You'll be responsible for daily video content -- and become the editor-in-chief of your region's digital news source.  You absolutely need to be a self-starter who is able to work remotely to report the news from the community/region you live and/or work in.  You must be able to shoot, edit, write and present your own stories, including live shots, while providing on-air and online content.

If you live in or around one of the following locations and desire to show you can be the expert in multi-platform journalism for your community, please contact us:
•    Cape Girardeau, MO
•    Harrisburg, IL
•    Marion/Carbondale, IL
•    Paducah, KY
Candidates must be willing to live and work in these communities while covering news over a multi-county area.

WSIL is located in southern Illinois (Marion – Carbondale). Our coverage area also includes southeast Missouri, western Kentucky, and northwest Tennessee.

A degree in Journalism or Mass Communications is highly desired. Experience shooting and editing video for television and social media platforms is also desired, but not required.

WSIL is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
