Production Assistant - Part Time

Directing experience and experience with Ross Carbonite switchers and Ross Xpression character generators is highly preferred. The Production Assistant assists in the production of news and programming, both live and recorded, for on-air and online presentations. Production Assistant responsibilities include:
- Preparing the studio for newscasts
- Operating studio cameras as directed
- Relaying information to news anchors
- Adjusting studio lighting as directed
- Operating teleprompter as needed
Other responsibilities may include operating the following equipment:
- Video switcher
- Audio board
- Microphones
- Character generator and related graphics software
- Video editing systems
The Production Assistant may also be required to perform duties in our Digital Broadcast Operations Center.
Experience preferred but not required. Training is available. Must be available to work mornings or nights and weekends.

WAAY-TV is seeking a Digital Content Producer to play a pivotal role in helping our TV station develop content that will engage and grow our audience in the Huntsville, Alabama market by creating and delivering timely and accurate information through the web, social media, and other communications channels.
The ideal candidate would quickly write developing stories and send out breaking news alerts, including push notifications and social media updates as well as livestream events using station technology for web and social. We want someone who can go beyond “digital first.” This person will help cultivate exclusive online content, understand social media algorithms, and find what’s going to trend instead of what’s already trending.
The ideal candidate will have a college degree in journalism, communications, English, or a similar-related field who is a strong writer and knowledgeable about current events as well as posting on social media. This job requires the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle several tasks simultaneously.
Our digital content manager will work closely with news managers to ensure the online product matches the station’s objectives. This person will also supervise and manage the online presence of news employees. The right applicant is an aggressive, smart, creative producer and a self-starter.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
The ability to understand the station’s philosophy and implement it daily.
