WKOW Television Inc. is currently seeking a self-motivated individual for a full-time opening on our Engineering Team. 

The successful candidate will be able to combine a people-oriented customer service type approach to maintaining technical and user-oriented equipment within the broadcast facility. The candidate will be able to respond to duties and tasks in support of the entire Television Station including News, Programming, Sales, and others as required.

Familiarity with RF technologies, basic wiring techniques and basic building maintenance practices is a plus. Qualifications include: broadcast equipment maintenance and repair experience
(cameras, audio, graphics and digital video systems), IT/computer skills, ability to troubleshoot and problem solve, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Possess physical ability to lift more than 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in cramped quarters.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Applicant should be able to work independently and may be asked to work weekdays, nights, weekends and some holidays.

This is a fast-paced, high-performance sales environment. You must have strong attention to detail, great organizational skills, and be comfortable working with numbers. Computer experience including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks are essential.

WKOW-TV is looking for a part-time Master Control Operator to join our broadcast team. Responsibilities include maintaining on-air programming, commercial insertion, and logging; support of technical operations; and keeping up to date transmitter readings. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary technical skills to interface with computer systems running a variety of operating systems, as well as the ability to learn new systems. You will have hands-on operation of digital broadcast equipment. Variable hours and days should be expected including night, weekend and holiday shifts. Background in broadcast technology preferred. But we will train the right person.

WKOW-TV has an opening for a hardworking, creative team player to join our newsroom as a photojournalist.

We’re looking for a news videographer who is passionate about journalism and telling stories with memorable characters, impactful video and strong natural sound. You'll work with an award-winning staff of reporters and other videographers on daily news events and in-depth reports.

Our photojournalists are responsible for gathering video and conducting interviews for television and our digital platforms. They work both solo and alongside reporters/MMJs. Other duties include editing video, livestreaming and conducting live shots during newscasts. You’ll also have the opportunity to become a drone operator at this station!

A degree in journalism, multimedia, digital/television production or a similar field is preferred. Our photojournalists have the opportunity to transition to on-air reporting if they choose.
The position requires the ability to carry up to 50 pounds, a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
