This is a leadership position. This person will work closely with the News Director to shape our news coverage every day. Some of the responsibilities will include daily editorial meetings, produce and manage daily story ideas, track upcoming events for potential stories, coordinate breaking news coverage, assign stories to staff, and work with reporters daily to cultivate the best story possible.
The ideal candidate will embrace social media as our staff produces content for on-air, online and mobile platforms.
To be considered, the candidate will need to be deeply invested in local, state and national news, including but not limited to politics, business, and agriculture. A successful candidate will not only be able to work efficiently under pressure but be able to lead during it. Knowledge of Blox CMS, iNews and Avid is a plus. Applicants must have a degree in journalism or a related multimedia field. At least two years of leadership experience preferred.

Requirements of this position include developing story ideas, writing, shooting, editing, and presenting stories online and on-air. This position requires on-camera reporting, photojournalism, and non-linear editing. Storytelling is valued. Fill-in anchoring opportunities are available.

WXOW Executive Producer
You will demonstrate strong editorial judgment while following journalistic ethics

The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day production for our evening newscasts. That includes determining the content flow of newscasts, working with on-air staff and management to generate, write, produce, and develop content for broadcast website and social media. Candidates need to have strong writing skills with excellent news judgment and creative showcasing skills. You will demonstrate strong editorial judgment while following journalistic ethics. You will coordinate and plan live shots and work closely with all members of the news team.
This position will involve mostly producing but some reporting each week. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to: ability to properly use social media as a news-gathering tool, write and post stories for all digital and social media platforms, and develop and pitch unique enterprise stories daily.
You need to maintain professional and ethical conduct at the station and in the community, while maintaining a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a collaborative manner with co-workers. Also be willing to work overtime and on some weekends.

WXOW Weekend Meteorologist

WXOW News 19 is committed to competing on all platforms: broadcast, web and social media. You need excellent communication skills.
