KVOA, is the NBC affiliate television station located in Tucson, Arizona. The station is owned by Allen Media Broadcasting, a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Entertainment Studios.

CHIEF BROADCAST ENGINEER

KVOA-TV in Tucson, Arizona is seeking a qualified Chief Broadcast Engineer. Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience at a broadcast facility.

Essential Duties of Position:

  • Supervises the broadcast maintenance engineers.
  • Oversees such areas as equipment maintenance, installation, and repair with specialties in point-to-point microwave systems, ENG radio systems, television transmitters, antennas, and related equipment.
  • Responsible for providing overall technical support to this broadcast facility and its remote transmission sites.
  • Assists with decisions regarding the purchase of new equipment with specific attention to new technologies.

The position will provide technical support to broadcast facilities in repair, maintenance, installation, and modification of technical broadcasting equipment at a high-definition television facility and at remote transmission sites.

Travels to remote locations for equipment repair, work under pressure in order to meet broadcast deadlines, make decisions and take corrective action without supervision are all a part of this job. Candidate will be required to maintain “on-call” or “stand-by” status for response to emergency situations and be able to work highly varied and flexible hours (i.e. nights, weekends and holidays). Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential.

In addition to working well independently, candidate must also work well as part of a team. Must be well organized, detail oriented and possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) including a predisposition to providing excellent customer service. Candidate must be able to lift 25lbs.
