The person for this role will be an accomplished television journalist first and foremost, with significant experience anchoring and producing great, memorable stories that connect with viewers. We're looking for a competitive communicator with polished live ad-lib skills and a strong desire to win. The person we select will be someone who wants to make a long-term commitment to this community.

Our next anchor will be someone who not only loves news but also relishes representing the station at community events. In addition to writing, anchoring, and producing content for our web and social platforms, you'll be a newsroom leader who has input on newsroom editorial decisions and loves to coach and train less experienced journalists.

News Production Assistant

WEVV-TV 44News, the FOX and CBS affiliate in Evansville, Indiana, has an opening for a production assistant in the news department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to get their foot inside the door of a growing, commercial, TV news operation. Duties will include operating studio camera, operating the audio board, and other technical tasks associated with the production of a newscast. Hours may include early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

 Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires an extreme focus.

  • Strong attention to detail is needed.
  • Help prepare the news set for live and pre-recorded broadcasts.
  • Work with studio lighting
  • Operate studio cameras.
  • Operator graphics.
  • Give talent time cues.
  • Perform administrative work during special coverage.

 Minimum 1 year of media/digital experience.
