Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Provides engineering assistance with studio equipment support, transmitter maintenance, editing systems, field production and transmission of live/recorded events and programs

·        Documents technical problems and reports them to management

·        Performs regular maintenance tasks including repairs, equipment replacement, supplies, etc.

·        Maintains building needs and station vehicles

·        Oversees management of master control operators including recruitment

·        Active Directory management

·        Desktop support for local and remote users

·        Design, implement and maintain computer/network security policies

·        Work with corporate engineering and 3^rd party vendors to configure, install and maintain switches, routers, servers, NAS and other hardware and software

·        Provide capital budgetary support and advice for selection and replacement of equipment

·        Must be available to work during breaking news situations, severe weather, new system integrations and updates

Qualifications & Requirements:

·        2-3 years of professional or broadcast experience

·        A bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT or related is preferred

·        Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA and other industry certifications are a plus

·        Strong leadership skills and ability to operate in high pressure situations

·        Commanding knowledge of broadcast video equipment and techniques

·        Ability to learn and adapt quickly to all work situations

·        Professional, communicative, highly self-motivated, and detail oriented

·        Physical ability to lift more than 50lbs., climb ladders and work in cramped quarters

·        Possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record

Position: Weekend Anchor / MMJ (Multimedia Journalist)

WFFT-TV FOX 55 is seeking a passionate, creative Weekend Anchor/MMJ to join our competitive, community-focused newsroom. You’ll anchor our weekend newscasts and, during the week, enterprise, shoot, write, edit, and present original reporting across TV, web, and social. WFFT is Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio’s FOX affiliate, serving the Headwaters region for 45+ years with award-winning local news and the market’s only 10 p.m. newscast.

Role Structure (Full-Time):

• 2 days per week: News Anchor on weekends

• 3 days per week: Multimedia Journalist

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Anchor weekend newscasts with confident delivery, clear enunciation, and strong on-camera presence.

• Report as an MMJ: pitch, research, interview, write, shoot, and edit daily stories (news, feature, enterprise, investigative).

• Produce accurate, complete, and compelling copy on deadline; execute clear, creative, accurate live shots.

• Build and maintain a reliable network of sources to keep the newsroom ahead of the competition.

• Write and publish complementary web and social content; provide timely digital updates.

• Collaborate with producers, anchors, photojournalists, and directors to ensure clean, energetic, informative broadcasts.

• Uphold newsroom standards for fairness, accuracy, attribution, and ethics.
  
  

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in journalism, broadcasting, or related field (preferred).

• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a news reporter (preferred).

• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, organization, and research skills.

• Proven ad-lib ability—with or without scripts/teleprompter.

• Strong editorial judgment; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Comfortable with newsroom technology and non-linear editing systems.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Background check required.

• Must be willing to reside in the Fort Wayne DMA.
  
  

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with breaking news.

• Regular local travel; ability to lift/transport up to 60 lbs.

• Work in extreme outdoor temperatures as news warrants.

• Schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with non-linear editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Edius).

• Familiarity with ENPS newsroom systems.

• Web and social media publishing skills.
