WFFT/FOX 55 News in Fort Wayne, Ind. is looking for a full-time video editor and photojournalist. 

The chosen candidate will edit our 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. shows Monday-Friday while occassionally shooting breaking news and quality feature stories with our talent. 

This is a dayside position, though sometimes breaking news and special assignments will require flexibility. 

We are looking for a passionate shooter who is able and willing to help younger journalists hone their craft. 

Requirements:

- At least one year of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photography equipment. 

- Ability to edit and shoot general assignment stories, lives shots and nat packages.

- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

This position reports directly to the Digital Sales Manager.  The primary function of this role is to support the Account Executives and Sales Managers with activities and projects to meet or exceed digital revenue goals.  The DSC contributes to the sales team's growth and professionalism by managing clients’ digital campaign elements using various project management tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize project management and internal campaign trafficking tools to schedule and process digital advertising orders and requests
  • Enter and maintain digital campaigns utilizing station and vendor operating systems.
  • Support Digital Sales Manager and Account Executives in overseeing and reporting on all digital campaigns
  • Keep Digital Sales Manager informed of any critical fulfillment/workflow issues
  • Attend internal and external meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Future ability and opportunity to sell digital products and services

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient in Google Suite of Products and Canva as well as MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Power Point and others as needed
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Digital marketing experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Broadcast IT Engineer

WFFT is seeking a Broadcast IT Engineer. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Windows Server and Office 365 environments, including help desk support. Additionally, experience with Juniper, Cisco, Ubiquiti switches and firewalls, Linux OS, and video over IP systems is desired. The right person will be able to balance the interaction between traditional broadcast equipment and COTS IT hardware and software. TV engineering experience is a plus, but not required, we will train the right candidate!

AUDIO/GRAPHICS OPERATOR

Job Description

WFFT-TV has an opening for an Audio/Graphics Operator.  The Audio/Graphics Operator is responsible for preparation of graphic elements for the show as well as the proper operation of broadcast audio console and Ross Xpression CG during the show.

Job Responsibilities
Operate broadcast audio console.
Operate Ross Xpression.
Use Adobe Photoshop to create/reformat elements for use in the show.
Must be able to take commands from director and respond quickly to changes.

Required Skills
MOS and basic computer network understanding.
Understanding of newsroom systems iNews/ENPS and video playback systems.

Experience with Adobe Photoshop.

Experience running sound in a live or recording environment.

Candidate should be a problem solver and quick thinker, using technical know-how to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live news.
The position requires shift flexibility. Shift may include weekend duties.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field preferred or equivalent work experience

Required Experience
Must also have experience with audio and studio equipment.
