WTHI-TV is seeking a News Producer/Reporter/Manager to join our award-winning team. We are a smaller market station, but we take news seriously. We are a dominant #1 station with great resources and a long tradition of success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Includes the following (other duties may be assigned):

-Must live in Southern Indiana or Illinois and operate out of Vincennes, Indiana

-Develop and maintain contacts and news sources throughout Southern Indiana and Illinois.

-Must work closely with Vincennes University to obtain and manage content for on-air and online use.

-Shoots and edits news video stories, including daily news, special news, features, sports, and live events.
-Takes direction from, and interact with, the assignment desk, producers, reporters, anchors, and production control room    personnel.
-Maintains and operates camera equipment as well as company vehicle safely and efficiently.

 

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

-Maintains positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments.
-Responds positively to feedback.

-Ability to edit raw video to newscast form in a manner to complete the story for the viewer.
-Proficient in social networking sites. Ex: Twitter, Facebook.

-Must be detail-oriented.
-Must always present professional image as a representation of the station.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in broadcasting, journalism, or related field preferred. Video photography in a medium or major market TV News station preferred, but not required.

Training/Equipment: Operate camera and live equipment.

Work Environment/Mental/Physical Requirements:
Must be able to operate computer and editing machine. High stress environment with deadline pressures. Travel will be required on a regular basis. Position requires the transport of equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. Position often requires work in extreme outdoor temperatures. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.

Job Title:       Digital Sales Manager

WTHI-TV’s Sales Department has an immediate opening for a Digital Sales Manager. The Digital Sales Manager will lead the station’s efforts in the development of new and incremental digital business utilizing the best-in-class digital product suite from Allen Media Digital; reduce digital churn; oversee the station’s digital sales assistant while coaching, training, mentoring, and leading a top-notch group of local Account Executives.

The DSM will work alongside our Account Executives daily to develop deep and mutually beneficial relationships with current and future clients. The DSM will work in concert with Allen Media support team, and the WTHI DOS and LSM to provide a unified approach to client solutions, that include digital assets. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a consistent and successful track record of leadership in delivering strong sales results. Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Retain and grow current business and develop new business clients.
• Generate television advertising revenue through sales to designated geographic location.
• Generate digital advertising revenue through sales of website, mobile, and social media campaigns to local advertisers.
• Understanding media options including traditional and digital advertising, and guiding clients to help them achieve their marketing objectives.
• Provide input on sales promotion ideas and contesting to sales management teams.
• Present marketing research and marketing solutions to local businesses.
• Prepare and submit sales and financial reports as directed.

• Assist in coaching and training the sales team by keeping them up to date on product knowledge.

• Help brainstorm and advice on new on non-traditional revenue ideas and projects to present to the sales staff. 

• Implement sales strategies and sales projects that drive revenue growth, profitability, and market development.
• Maintain Advertiser/Inventory Booking pipeline.
• Campaign management; maintaining width and depth in market. 

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong writing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of digital media (website, mobile, and social)
• Computer proficiency is essential.
• Must be well organized, display a professional demeanor, exude high energy, and show attention to detail.
• Competitive, energetic and self-starter; Ability to overcome objections.
• Creativity, flexibility, and ability to adjust quickly to changes in industry also essential. 

 

Training/Equipment: Strong MS Office skills including Word, Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint required. Nielsen and Wide Orbit a plus.

JOB SUMMARY:

Operate various equipment (audio, visual, graphics, lighting, digital) used for media production and/or transmission.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the director and studio staff to coordinate the action in the studio.
• Collaborate with set designers to determine the needs of the production.
• Builds and decorates the set and/or provides props used for production.
• Assist in the installation, operation and maintenance of sound recording equipment.
• Operate studio graphic systems during broadcast/production.
• Provide audio production-related support as needed, and may work with outside production facilities.
• Assist in digital media productions, liaising with appropriate departments.
• May convert analog recordings, film, or printed materials to digital format.
• Maintains and stores equipment, records and tapes.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff.
