KWWL, the NBC affiliate serving Eastern Iowa, is looking for a photojournalist with a creative eye, technical expertise, and can-do attitude. You’ll also need to understand the importance of visual composition, natural sound, and quality lighting. The successful candidate must be able to deliver great video on a daily basis in our very competitive 21-county market.

Have a license to operate a drone or want to get yours? We can help! Live drone shots included.

You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to cover big time college sports including the University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, and Iowa State athletics. Our photojournalists are just that - journalists, so if you want to write as well as shoot and edit, or simply get more hands-on training in the industry, we’re the place. You must love working very early hours and/or very late hours (the hours vary) under deadline pressure. KWWL has Sony HD cameras, drones, satellite, and storm chaser vehicles and LiveU.

The candidate will be an accomplished television journalist first and foremost, with significant experience anchoring and producing great, memorable stories that connect with viewers. We are looking for a competitive communicator with polished live ad-lib skills and a burning desire to win. The person we select will be someone who wants to make a long-term commitment to this community.

Our next anchor will be someone who not only loves news, but also relishes representing the station at community events. In addition to writing, anchoring, and producing content for our web and social platforms, you will be a newsroom leader who has input on newsroom editorial decisions and loves to coach and train less experienced journalists.

As a Sales Coordinator, you will work with Sales Account Executives, Managers, clients, staff, Management, and vendors. Excellent interpersonal skills working in a team environment are required. Essential duties will include administrative tasks such as weekly sales reports, updating and maintaining sales software programs, political advertising sales administration, entering sales contracts, providing back up to the other sales assistants, creating sales proposals, and covering a multi-station switchboard.

The successful candidate will have excellent command of Microsoft Office applications especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Educational background and relevant work experience will be considered.

KWWL-TV (Market #92) Cedar Rapids-Waterloo-Dubuque-Iowa City, Iowa has an opening in our newsroom for Social Media Digital Content Manager.

In this role, you will lead the station’s digital content initiatives. We are looking for a champion content creator to help shape and execute strategies for our newsroom and all its digital media efforts including web, mobile and social.

The ideal candidate for this full-time manager role will have web and social media news content creation, strong writing skills, ability to comprehend digital analytics, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work closely with other newsroom management to create and administer daily content workflow both on-air and on-line.

Qualifications include a college degree in journalism, communications, or related field of study with at least one year of experience working for a television station, newspaper or an on-line news entity is preferred. Along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadline pressures.
